As part of support for the Indonesian solar energy program, Garuda Energy sponsored a least-cost electrification study for the program, which found that o-grid solutions, at the village or household level, would be the least-cost means to supply almost one-third of the unnelectrified households on Indonesia.

Garuda Energy consequently designed and planned a solar PV mini grid pilot project to demonstrate a sustainable o -grid electrification model engaging the private sector that would overcome problems
with past efforts.
